The TimberBLDR team has worked with industry partners for the past year to bring the Dripping Springs House, an innovative mass timber residential project, to life utilizing mass ply light framing.
Located in Dripping Springs, the heart of the Texas hill country, the house is a single-family residential mass timber building with a total footprint of nearly 9,000 square feet. Because, as the saying goes, everything is indeed bigger in Texas!
On this project, TimberBLDR is installing a new mass ply light framing system developed with Freres Wood, a 100-year-old company with a tradition of innovation.
Mass ply light framing offers speed of construction, superior structural integrity, and sustainability, replacing stick-framing in single-family, multi-family and commercial applications.
“It’s hard to believe it was only a year ago that Kyle Freres and I sat down to discuss a mass timber system similar to stick framing,” said Trent Debth, VP of Operations, TimberBLDR. “It all started with Kyle doing the math on his phone calculator. Now, with the help of the onsite modeling skills of Travis Walters, our Field Project Manager, and our amazing install team, walls are flying and bringing this dream to life!”
The project is well underway and each day adds exciting new elements to the build. Follow along on our socials for more updates on the progress!
